Frankfurt Offer Bendtner Way Out Of Arsenal

Nicklas Bendtner has not had the best of careers as an Arsenal striker, and as he has no future at the club anymore due to Arsene Wenger’s new buys, German side Eintracht Frankfurt have offered him a way out of the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger has a lot of faith in the budding youngsters of the youth academy, and Bendtner was one such player, who was seen as a tall center forward with a good eye for goal. However, his spell at the club has been full of irregular appearances for the senior side. It certainly is not an easy task for a young player to make his mark at the club, but players like Kieran Gibbs have proved that consistency in performances can win you places in the first team.

Many experts and fans have criticized Bendtner’s style of play, assessing it as a laid back approach to the game. The tall striker has bags of ability in striking the ball as he has done a few times for the club, and his natural aerial ability also gives him the edge over some other strikers. His style of play is similar to that of Bulgarian star Dimitar Berbatov, who had a similar approach, but the only factor that differentiates him from Bendtner, is the natural dribbling skills, which helped him beat many defenders for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Bendtner made his entry into the Arsenal youth academy in 2004, when his spell at the native Kjøbenhavns Boldklub youth side were enough to convince Wenger of his abilities and potential for the future. Just after a year at the Arsenal youth setup, Bendtner was signed up through a professional contract in 2005. One-year loan spells at Birmingham City, Sunderland and Juventus dominated his time at Arsenal ever since, as Bendtner just started 99 Barclays Premier League matches for the Gunners, scoring 22 goals.

The 25-year old has been linked with various clubs, and according to reports, the Dane has a total of five offers to consider in this summer’s transfer window. Other clubs linked are Malaga and Hamburg.

According to SkySports, Frankfurt sports director Heribert Buchhagen.

Buchhagen said, “We are in serious negotiations with Bendtner.”
