Arsenal Reignite Move For Brazilian Midfield Maestro As They Seek Xhaka Replacement

Arsenal are tracking Athletico Paranaense midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to the Daily Mail. The Gunners have watched the 22-year-old in the past but they are back on his trail due to the possible departure of Granit Xhaka.

The agent of the Swiss international has revealed that he has agreed terms to sign for Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin, although no transfer fee has been agreed with Arsenal.

Guimaraes would, therefore, be a younger replacement who would have room to develop under manager Mikel Arteta in the coming years.

The Gunners do, however, face a lot of competition for the Brazilian’s signature. Chelsea are keen on the player, while Atletico Madrid and Benfica are also keeping close tabs on him.

Guimaraes is pretty experienced considering his young age. He has made 84 appearances for Athletico Paranaense, having helped the Brazilian club to win the Copa Sudamericana back in 2018. Last season, he played 35 games, scoring four goals and contributing three assists.
