Arsenal are lining up a new and improved offer for Sampdoria pair Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen, according to reports in Italy.
There were claims that the Gunners originally had a €42m (£37m) bid rejected for the duo, but it seems they will now table a new proposal worth €50m (£44m).
Supporters on Twitter are hoping that the news is genuine and that Arsenal secure a deal for the two players:
Will be very impressed if we get this over the line

Both turned 23 and 25 this year, so they still young.. These are the kind of promising signings we should have been making for years, Andersen looks solid

Anderson is a great deal. Jury is out on Praet. Can’t ask for better than this however for 50 million. Get in.

Andersen has only been a regular in Sampdoria’s defence for the past year, but he has a growing reputation in Italy. At 23 years of age, he also has scope to improve his game.
Praet has been on a number of English club’s radar for a while. The Belgian was Lucas Torreira’s partner in central midfield during the 2017/18 campaign and would be best described as a deep-lying playmaker.
Neither player would be described as the finished article, though, so if they do arrive at the Emirates patience may be needed.
