Real Madrid Star Sparks Transfer Scramble After Being Told To Leave, With Arsenal And United Both Keen

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has been told that he can leave the Bernabeu this summer, according to AS.

The Madrid based publication reports that the Costa Rican international has five clubs pursuing his signature, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Roma and Marseille all ready to make their move.

Gunners boss Unai Emery is said to be a fan of Navas and could look to sign the 32-year-old as a potential replacement for Petr Cech.

The Czech will retire from professional football after the Europa League final against Chelsea, and while Bernd Leno will likely remain the club’s number one, a strong backup will be required.

Navas had been number two to Thibaut Courtois for most of the season, but Zinedine Zidane’s return as manager at Real Madrid led to increased game time.

However, the keeper has not started any of the last three league games and was left out of the squad entirely for the 3-1 defeat to Real Sociedad on Sunday.
