Arsenal are poised to appoint Edu as the club’s technical director, according to multiple reports in the UK.
The Ex-Gunner is currently Brazil’s general manager so it has been agreed that he will take up the role at the Emirates after this summer’s Copa America.
Once he joins the club, manager Unai Emery is said to be keen on strengthening the club’s defence and the wings with Arsenal targeting three major signings.
Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha are the priorities. Supporters on Twitter are split over whether those players would be realistic:
Plz get them all. And sell mkhi , xhaka and lichstienner.

Those 3 walk into our team right

Very interesting. Zaha is somewhat the player Mané was at Southampton. Proven quality in the EPL, and a great winger. I’d say it’s a clever purchase. Maybe too expensive.

Please let’s forget this Umtiti, there are better options

Would be a good window if we got just the three of them.

If we get all Zaha, Fraser and Umtiti I think that would be a good window

Multiple reports have indicated that the Gunners’ transfer budget is just £40m so the sale of a number of players would be needed to finance moves for these three signings.
Fraser would be the cheapest, by far, as the Scottish international’s contract expires in 2020. Getting Zaha and Umititi would likely exceed £100m for the pair so some major wheeler-dealing from Edu will be required.
