Arsenal have been offered Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, according to reports in the English media.
The 24-year-old has hardly featured under manager Ernesto Valverde this season and the player’s agent was reportedly told this week by Barca that he was no longer needed at the Camp Nou.
That prompted Suarez’s representatives to offer the player to the Gunners with a fee of £14m likely to be enough to secure a deal for the midfielder.
Reports in Spain suggest that Chelsea and AC Milan are also in the running for the Spaniard. Blues boss Maurizio Sarri wanted to sign the player when he was Napoli manager and could look to take him to Stamford Bridge.
If the Gunners were interested in Suarez, they may have an advantage in that Director of Football Raul Sanllehi has strong connections after spending many years in the management setup of the Catalan club. In addition, manager Unai Emery worked with the midfielder when he was on loan at Sevilla.
