Should Alexandre Lacazette start against Cardiff tomorrow afternoon?

The Frenchman has been left-out of the starting line-up for all three of Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures so far, with manager Unaui Emery preferring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his first choice striker.

Despite starting from the bench however, the former Lyon man has still been one of the Gunners’ stand-out players in what has been a tough start to the new campaign.

Lacazette was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet in the narrow 3-2 defeat to Chelsea a fortnight ago, and played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s turnaround victory over West Ham last weekend.

With the score at 1-1, the striker’s inventive effort deflected off Hammers defender Issa Diop and into the net to make it 2-1 with just 20 minutes to play.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has also endured a slow start to the new season, has already hinted at his desire to play alongside Lacazette saying: “We really get on well. There is a spark between us when we are both on the pitch together.”

And Lacazette himself has reciprocated those feelings, saying: “Every day, like I said, we talk, we laugh a lot, we work together when we are on the pitch,” he said.

“I like to be with Auba. He’s a good guy. I’m not asking the coach or telling him, ‘I want to play with Auba’ or something like that. He knows we can play well together and then afterwards, he makes his decision.”
