Yes We Can!

Fans had a lot to see on Monday night as Arsenal dominated City for three quarters of the game. The defense was spot on with Mertesacker anticipating each and every move Aguero had in mind and the attack was running circles around Otamendi and Mangala. The game was extremely well prepared by Wenger who did not leave City any chance to actually score. Sure, they had a few set pieces but Cech was not going to let anything go past him. Ozil and Ramsey were key players in the game. This is good news especially when it comes to Ramsey who seems to be returning to good form. He does not have the same accuracy as Ozil but he is getting there. It shows that he has been on and off the pitch for the past couple of months. His attitude is the right one though and the talent is definitely there. He is pretty quick, he can drop adversaries along the pitch with his skill on the ball and he ends up in front of goal at least one or two times per game. He can shoot and pass while still covering a big portion of the pitch in help of the defense. He still has a bit of work to do in order to catch up with Ozil who reached an impressive 15 assists with the first half of the season not even closed yet.

Bellerin, Koscielny and Campbell are worth mentioning as well, with all performing at full capacity. Wenger needs to be credited for bringing out the best of his players, which is exactly what happened against City. The only downside of the 2-1 win against the Citizens is the fact that Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gibbs kind of lowered the quality of the game when replacing Campbell and Ozil. Even though it sounds strange, having the two changes made, allowed Yaya Toure and Sagna to pass freely and score a pretty impressive goal. Hopefully Arsenal’s lot will not suffer any further damage because it will be complicated to make the team work as well as Monday night. On the bright side, Sanchez was not on the pitch and Arsenal still did good. When he returns the game will get even better.
