Yaya Toure passes medical with London club, could it be Arsenal?

Former Manchester City star Yaya Toure has undergone a medical with an mystery London club, according to the player’s agent.

Toure is a free agent having left City at the end of last season, but the Ivorian has previously spoken of is desire to remain in the Premier League.

And his agent, Dimitry Seluk, has now confirmed that wish is close to coming true after tweeting that the veteran midfielder has completed a medical with an ‘secret’ London club.

Seluk said: “Toure @YayaToure has passed a medical in London. Yaya is close to signing a new contract.”

A number of London clubs have been linked with a move for Toure this summer, including both Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham.

However while Seluk has yet to reveal the club Toure will join, he has revealed it will not be the latter of that trio.

He added: “It’s not West Ham, 100%. Yaya is a champion. The last place is not for him.”

Seluk also revealed it will not be Crystal Palace, with the Russian agent taking an opportunity to poke fun at the Eagles and manager Roy Hodgson with the news.

“It’s not Crystal Palace, 100%.” he said, “Roy Hodgson said he doesn’t know when his players’ birthdays are. Can Yaya go there?”
