Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has lavished praise on Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian international has played a pivotal role in the Gunners’ unlikely title challenge this season, and Toure says he is one of those players he would like to go and watch every week:
“Yeah. he’s brilliant, it’s really nice to see. I think now every weekend when Arsenal have to play, I have to be honest, I would go just to watch him. He’s just unbelievable.”
Partey’s performance against Bournemouth last weekend was a mixed bag. He failed to mark Marcos Senesi’s for the Cherries’ second goal, but he more than made amends.
The 29-year-old scored to get Arsenal back to the 2-1, and he also played an important part in the build-up to Ben White’s equaliser.
Overall, Partey has had an excellent season, covering the ground and breaking up play, whilst also setting up attacks with his good range of passing.
The midfielder’s absence has been keenly felt when he hasn’t played this campaign, and supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed that he can stay fit from now until May.
