Would This Winger Fit In At Emirates?

It`s hard to tell if Elneny will be the first and only transfer Arsenal will make this January. Injuries make it hard for Wenger to put together the right team every time and even if some players are bound to return at some point, they will still have trouble handling 3 games every week. Welbeck, Sanchez, Wilshere and more will be fit by March but they will be at 100% during the Summer when the season will already be finished. Arsenal could take a risk with 26-year-old Andriy Yarmolenko who has been on the Gunners’ radar for a while now. According to ESPN the Ukraine international could become the next and last transfer Wenger makes this Winter. There are two major problems with Yarmolenko which are very likely to interfere with the negotiations. The first thing that does not seem right is his price tag. Dynamo Kiev are asking for £20.5 million which is a lot for someone who has a very big chance of spending a lot of time on the bench. Why would that happen? Because he is used to playing right winger where Arsenal already have Sanchez, Walcott, Campbell and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Even if the four change things up like Sanchez did and start performing on the left, Yarmolenko would still be too expensive to have as a substitute. No matter how good he is, he will still need at least a year to get used to the Premier League. That means he will not help the team too much right now when they need reinforcements the most. The title is closer than ever and spending £20.5 million on a player just to secure tough competition for the future is not something Wenger would do.

The other problem with Yarmolenko is the fact that he is injured right now and has been for the past 40 days. Information regarding his situation is very hard to find and right now there’s no return date set for the winger. It would be a waste of money for Arsenal regardless of how good this Ukraine international is. He has the right attitude and all the skill in the world but Arsenal already has 5 players with similar qualities. The £20.5 million would be better off spent on someone else.
