Would This Striker Be A Good Signing?

So the transfer rumors are flying around like wild fire and from now until the end of the season it is surely gonna be none stop with the Gunners one of the teams connected with players most often due to their new kit sponsorship deal with Emirates plus the £50-70 million (depending on who you believe) transfer kitty being handed to Wenger by the Board to revamp the squad. An additional source of significant funds will come from the winner of the race between Nike and the late entry Adidas with either firm looking to pay big bucks to be the kit supplier to the Arsenal.

A name who actually seems to warrant more than a passing consideration and who seems to genuinely be in the mind of the Arsenal manager as a serious transfer target is Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic, who is also the vice-captain of Serie A’s Fiorentina. Jovetic scored 14 times in 27 league games for Fiorentina last term in his best season so far in Italy for an excellent goals per games ratio of almost a goal every 2 league games and his overall goals per game ratio at Fiorentina is almost a goal every 3 games so that is not too shabby.

He has suffered from a bit of a stop-start-season this year but has recently returned to the starting line-up scoring a brace of wicked goals in Fiorentina’s most recent match where they thumped Inter Milan 4-1 at their home stadium, Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Fiorentina bought Jovetic for about £8million from FK Partizan where he was the youngest even club captain, appointed at the tender age of only 18 years old so you would think that while his transfer fee will go up he still looks like he will command the kind of fee which Wenger would pay plus he still has room to improve.

Check out Jovetic in action below as he scores a cracker of a goal against Inter. Do you think he would be a good addition to Arsenal’s attack?
