Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny is being eyed by Monaco as a potential transfer target in the January transfer window, according to reports in France.
It is believed that Gunners legend Thierry Henry is keen on recruiting his former teammate, but he isn’t the only name on the list. Other targets include former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, Chelsea’s Gary Cahill and Besiktas’s veteran centre-back Pepe.
Fans on Twitter are not too sure what to make of the report:
Arsenal would be crazy to sell Koscielny in January. They need more quality CBs, not less.

Please take Kos, he provided us many great years but he was done before his injury! Will allow him to finish off in his native land ??

Kos might actually be a good move for everyone provided Arsenal get a CB in.

Good opportunity for us to absolutely rinse him. £10m and Koscielny is his. https://t.co/5F55hzsvVk

Koscielny has only just come back from a long-term injury, and with the Gunners short of cover at centre-half, it seems highly unlikely that they would offload the 33-year-old.
Especially as manager Unai Emery has been employing a back three in recent games, reducing his options in the backline is not something the Spaniard would likely consider unless the club recruit reinforcements in the centre of defence in January.
Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Cahill, Manchester United’s Eric Bailly and Real Valladolid’s Fernando Calero in recent weeks, but the club are likely to be looking to add to the players they already have in the squad.
