Arsenal are scouting Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to multiple reports in the English media.
The England international is being considered by the Gunners as they look to provide competition for William Saliba. Rob Holding has not performed well in the Frenchman’s absence and bringing in a player like Guehi would be seen as a good solution.
Fans on Twitter are mostly behind going after the 22-year-old, who has impressed since he moved to Selhurst Park at the start of last season:
Would be a great signing especially as saliba back-up/competition

Won’t be cheap with Chelsea having a sell on clause

Get it done

Could potentially be a great singing. Most notably, he’s only missed 3 games in his professional career due to injury. Back in 2021. Young, athletic, and right footed. Looks as though he’s played almost every minute of football this season available to him. Reliable

As one supporter mentions, Chelsea do have a sell-on clause on Guehi so it remains to be seen how much the centre-back would cost. Arsenal are unlikely to pay through the nose for someone who may only be a backup option.
If he can be brought in for a reasonable fee, though, it seems to be a sensible idea. Despite his young age, he is a leader, having captained Palace on several occasions this campaign, while he is closing on 150 senior games.
