Wojciech Szczesny May Be Added To Arsenal’s Injury List

Arsenal’s 23 year old stopper, Wojciech Szczesny may miss out on several matches after tweaking an old ankle injury. The Gunner wasn’t able to finish his training session with Poland’s national team, after feeling pain in the lower part of his leg. According to Metro, Wenger’s first choice as far as goalkeepers go, may have aggravated his situation during the game against United.

Wojciech Szczesny has some time to recover but the doctors don’t yet know how long will the recovery period take. Arsenal’s next match will take place on the 23rd of November which could be enough time for the Polish international to get back into shape.

Arsenal’s player has also suffered a possible concussion during the game against United after bumping heads with Jones who was also pretty badly bruised. It all happened at the end of the first half when both players reached for the ball after a corner kick. Szczesny was the one with the bigger problems considering he was barely moving after hitting the ground. It took the Polish international a few minutes to get back on his feed and also after giving spectators quite the scare considering what happened with Lloris a week back.

Wenger’s other alternatives don’t seem that reliable. Lukasz Fabianski is out of form and managed to get only 90 minutes against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup match which Arsenal lost. His morale is also not in the best of shape after this summer when he looked keen to move. The Gunners were interested in signing a new stopper but failed to bring in someone to replace Szczesny only adding Emiliano Viviano.

If the Polish international’s injury proves to be more serious than doctors expect, it is very possible a new number 1 may join the Emirates team. He was not in the best of terms with his club during the summer after his father announced Arsenal don’t show him the respect he deserves. Hopefully for the Gunners, Wenger will find a solution in order to stay on top of the Premier League standings until the transfer period begins.
