Wilshere Returned In Style

After being benched for the match against Napoli, Wilshere returned to Arsenal’s starting line-up in what was one of the hardest games of the early season. The Gunners did not manage to win against WBA and finished with a draw just like they did after the first 90 minutes of the Capital One Cup game. The equalizer came from Wenger’s 21 year old England international who despite his off-field slip-up last week was sent in right from the start.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, Wilshere’s performance was not enough to secure an away win against West Brom. According to Metro, newly re-signed, Mathieu Flamini insisted that his fellow midfielder has bounced back and learned his lesson after caught smoking outside a London pub. The Frenchman who returned to Arsenal this summer, defended Wilshere by saying he is still young and his character is still developing. The 21 year old still has a lot to learn even if he has been playing for Arsenal for quite a while now.

Many forget how young Wilshere is because he started playing for Arsenal’s first team in 2008. Even though the England international is already seen as the Gunners’ next leader, he still has a lot to learn. Luckily for him Wenger seems to be quite aware of the fact that his player is still in his 20’s and that he still has time to grow.

Mathieu Flamini spoke highly of Wilshere saying that it is hard to find a player with such quality, determination and attitude especially at such a young age. Arsenal’s midfielder proved all that after scoring the equalizer against WBA and after managing a few excellent last minutes against Napoli. The Frenchman who is one of the oldest players currently with Arsenal urged fans to be patient with Wilshere and to focus on his qualities. Mistakes like the one from a few days back are common and can happen to anyone especially at this age. Flamini assured the press and fans that his teammate is one of the most focused and determined players at the Emirates and that his future with the club looks very promising.
