Wilshere Out Through Injury

According to ESPN, Jack Wilshere will remain sidelined for Arsenal’s home game against Crystal Palace through injury, but could return for the club’s important trip to Liverpool next week.

Arsene Wenger has been struggling to select his first team lately, with injuries to Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and now Wilshere. These setbacks have taken a chunk out of Arsenal’s midfield armoury, and will have to be managed carefully by Wenger. The club signed Kim Kallstrom from Spartak Moscow on loan for the remainder of the season on deadline day, and the Swedish midfielder could prove to be vital in the business end of the season but he has now been reported to have a back injury which he sustained playing football on the beach and he could be out for up to 6 games.

Arsenal’s away draw against Southampton last week meant Manchester City have taken over the lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League. City play Chelsea on Monday, and this could be just the chance Arsenal need to regain the lead if Chelsea can do Arsenal a favour by either beating City or at least drawing with them which would really be the ideal result for the Gunners assuming Arsenal can beat Tony Pulis’ revitalised Palace side.
