Will Yilmaz End Up At Arsenal?

The latest footballer who is seen as a possible addition to Arsenal’s new squad comes from Turkey. Burak Yilmaz, who is probably having the best season of his career is definitely a name to take into consideration. Even though he is 27 years old, which can be a bit much considering Wenger’s youngster based first eleven, he is most definitely a viable candidate for a top spot on the Frenchman’s transfer wish-list.

In recent statements, Galatasaray’s managerial team admitted that their most efficient striker is most likely to leave them at the end of the season especially if he keeps performing as he has this year. Arsenal are not the only team interested in signing the Turkish international, who has managed an impressive 26 goal streak during his last 31 appearances. Fatih Terim admitted that Manchester United and Liverpool have also joined the race for securing Yilmaz’s signature. Galatasaray’s striker caught the Red Devil’s attention after an impressive performance against them during the Champions League group stages.

Burak Yilmaz is now one of the 2012-2013 Champions League top scorers managing to put the ball in the back of the net 8 times. He is valued at £10 million, making him one of the most desired players on the market.

The only problem that could come between the Turkish striker and Arsenal is the Gunners’ lack of trophies. United are clearly favorites, especially because he is already 27 years old and will probably leave Galatasaray in search of trophies, which are not guaranteed with any team but you would have to say are less likely with the Emirates team. Although he would not have to face the same competition for a place in the first eleven as he would with Manchester United, his transfer to Arsenal is by no means a sure thing.
