Arsenal will make two signings very early on in the summer transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims that the Gunners are moving forward with their plans to snap up a right-back and a central midfielder as soon as possible:
“At the beginning of the market, Arsenal will be ready to do something, let’s see if it will be the right-back, the absolute priority is at right-back at the moment, that and the midfield, so I expect that at the beginning of the market they will be close to signing two players in these positions.”
Romano expects Arsenal to sign at least four players this summer, with a centre-back and a number 10 (if Martin Odegaard doesn’t stay) also on the agenda.
In terms of when these two first signings could be made, Romano even gives a timeframe of “the end of May or the start of June” which means there could be movement in the next two to three weeks.
With regards to a right-back, Norwich’s Max Aarons And Real Betis’s Emerson Royal are the two likeliest candidates, with Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey having fallen down the list of targets due to his injury problems.
Lamptey’s teammate Yves Bissouma is, though, expected to be a priority for the central midfield position, along with Sheffield United’s Sander Berge and Rangers’ Glen Kamara.
