Will Arsenal Swap Walcott And Jenkinson For Sterling?

It is going to be a long and very interesting summer for the Premier League’s top teams who are all likely planning on making some very interesting moves. Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool and United are all waiting for the end of the season to start bidding and start negotiations for new talent as well as for experienced players who feel the need for a change.

One of the most interesting potential deals to watch out for is probably set to take place between Arsenal and Liverpool. According to The Guardian, Sterling, Walcott and Jenkinson will get a fresh start by changing clubs. Walcott has yet to extend his contract and is definitely thinking about leaving in order to jumpstart his career away from North London. Up until now he has not really taken a bunch of chances thrown his way in addition to his unfortunate injury history means he has lost contact with the starting eleven especially as Sanchez has been dominating the right wing. Sterling is rumored to be looking to leave Liverpool despite him being a first choice for Rodgers almost all of the time.

Arsenal will have to up the ante, as Liverpool have Sterling under contract until 2017. Walcott’s injury history also weighs in pretty heavily meaning that things will not balance out unless Jenkinson is added to the equation. The right-back looks like the missing piece from the puzzle given Liverpool’s desire to replace Glenn Johnson whose contract is coming to an end in June. Bringing in Sterling at the Emirates would be a sweet move for Wenger to pull off as the youngster can play anywhere in the forward area and would offer real insurance should the likes of Ozil or Cazorla wish to move on.
