Why Arsenal Still Have The Chance To Sign Ceballos Despite The Spaniard’s Wish To Join Another Team

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has told his club that he wants to play for former team Real Betis next season, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The news could signal the end of Arsenal’s interest in the 24-year-old, but the article in the Catalan publication also makes one other important point.

Ceballos is keen on moving to Betis if he is loaned out for another year but were Real to sell him, Arsenal and other clubs would come back into the picture. The La Liga side have yet to decide whether to keep or offload the Spanish international this summer.

The player himself has seemingly had no communication regarding his future and so the decision to favour a move to Betis is on the basis that he is staying at the Bernabeu.

Were he to be put up for sale, it’s unlikely that Betis would be able to afford to sign him, leaving the Gunners as one of the potential destinations if, that is, the London club can come up with the funds to secure his signature.
