His impressive displays for Braga caught the eye of Benfica

Rafa Silva

Silva moved from Feirense to Sporting Braga after just one season, and he began to build a reputation for himself over the next three years. He was given his first senior cap for Portugal in 2014 after his impressive performances at club level.

In the 2015/16 season, he scored against Benfica in a 2-1 defeat in the Allianz Cup semi-final and also helped beat Porto in the final of the Portuguese Cup. Those performances helped him make the €16.4m switch to Benfica in September 2016.
