The Brazilian decided to stay in Germany for his next adventure, making the switch to Hertha Berlin during the 2020 January transfer window.
Whilst in the German capital, Cunha made an instant impact scoring 11 times in his first 18 league appearances. Goals did begin to dry up due to injuries but he had already attracted the attention of some notable clubs.
