The player was born in Eindhoven to a Togolese father and a Dutch mother. He joined PSV’s academy at the age of 8 and progressed through all the youth terms before making his debut.
At international level, Gakpo has been a regular for the Netherlands at Under 18, Under 19, Under 20 and Under 21 levels before getting his first full senior cap in June last year.
