He made an instant impression in Italy’s top flight
Diawara’s rapid rise to prominence showed no sign of abating after moving to Bologna. Despite having made just 15 starts at Serie CB level, he was thrust into the first team almost instantly, making his Serie A debut against Lazio in August 2015.
After Bologna made a horrific start, which saw them lose seven of their first eight league games, Diawara managed to establish himself as a regular starter from the end of September and kept his place for the remainder of the season.
