Arsenal welcome Brentford to the Emirates this weekend as they look to keep the pressure on Liverpool, who have an 11-point lead in the Premier League.
With the title race all but over, Arsenal’s last hope of silverware this season is in the Champions League, where they got off to a fantastic start in the quarter-finals. They beat Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg on Tuesday, hoping to secure a spot in the semi-finals next week.
Arsenal would play against either Paris Saint-Germain or Aston Villa in the semis, with PSG having a 3-1 lead over Villa heading into their second leg at Villa Park next week.
The Gunners face a Brentford side this weekend, who are 12th in the league table, 11 points away from the Champions League places, and looking to end their season on a high under Thomas Frank.
Mikel Arteta may have a few tough line-up decisions as both Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice picked up knocks against Madrid last time out. He may not want to risk them this weekend ahead of the second leg on Wednesday.
Gabriel, Kai Havertz, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus are all ruled out for the season, and so won’t be available for the game on Saturday. Click here to see our predicted XI for Arsenal against the Bees.
Arsenal backed to beat Brentford at the Emirates
The Gunners are the better team on paper, they are in the best form, and they still have more to play for than the Bees, who are languishing in mid-table obscurity this season. The bookmakers see this as a huge advantage to Arteta’s side.
According to Oddschecker, the Gunners are 5/8 favourites to win on Saturday, giving them a 61.5% chance of all three points.
Brentford are backed at odds of 9/2, which gives them an 18.2% chance to beat the Gunners, and a draw is backed at 10/3 (23.1%). We predict a 3-1 win to Arsenal, who close the gap to Liverpool to eight points with a win.
