‘What A Gem He Is’ ‘Lacazette’s Successor’ Fans On Social Media Delighted As Arsenal Starlet Scores 43 Minutes Into His Debut Out On Loan

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah scored just 43 minutes into his debut for Leeds United in the Carabao Cup last night. The 20-year-old opened the scoring in the 3-0 win against Salford City.

The forward will spend the season out on loan at the Championship side, and after a successful first appearance, supporters on Twitter are backing him to be a success at Elland Road:

Nketiah appears to already have a fan in legendary Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa. Asked about the teenager’s performance after the game yesterday, the Argentine replied:

“The most important thing with Nketiah is that he is a special player and he doesn’t need a lot of instructions to follow his style of game. He’s a striker and the team will accommodate him, rather than him accommodating to the team.”

After Unai Emery opted against loaning him out last season, Nketiah only managed to make nine appearances for the Gunners’ first team.

He has impressed when given the opportunity, especially when he scored on the final day of the campaign against Burnley. However, a season playing regular first-team football away from the Emirates could do wonders for his development. The striker has certainly gotten off to a perfect start.
