West Ham United Vs Arsenal: Match Preview & Injury News

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will be looking to maintain their position at the apex of the Premier League table as they take on West Ham United at the weekend.

Arsenal are set to be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny for the game against the Hammers. William Saliba is also a doubt – he has been out of action recently with an injury, but may be fit to start against West Ham at the weekend.

In their last game, Arsenal dropped points away from home as they drew 2-2 with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. It was a certified Premier League classic – both teams created no end of chances. The Gunners’ goals were scored by Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, while Liverpool’s goalscorers on the day were Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino – the former also missed a controversial penalty.

West Ham, on the other hand, were victorious in their last League game – they defeated Marco Silva’s Fulham by a score of 1-0. It was an uneventful encounter, but nonetheless, the Hammers will be grateful for the positive result.

When the two teams last played each other, on Boxing Day of 2022, Arsenal came from behind to beat the Irons. Said Benrahma scored the first goal of the game with a penalty, but Arsenal battled back to win 3-1. The Gunners’ goalscorers on the day were Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah – sadly, the latter will not be available on Sunday afternoon.
