Barcelona have expressed an interest in signing Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports in the Spanish media. The Catalan club are said to be eyeing the 30-year-old as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, and could even make a bid for the player in the January transfer window.
The Gabon international’s current contract expires in eighteen months time, and there is speculation over whether he’ll sign an extension to stay at the Emirates. However, fans on Twitter don’t believe there is much to this rumour:

It would be a surprise if Barca were interested in Aubameyang as a replacement for Suarez considering the Gunners forward is just two years younger than the Uruguayan.
Supporters will be hoping that after being made captain by manager Unai Emery earlier this week, the striker will opt to stay and sign a new deal committing his future to the club for the long term.
