Wenger: We Are Ready For The Title

As Metro are reporting, Arsene Wenger has expressed his delight at his team’s weekend victory at the Emirates Stadium over Barclays Premier League title rivals Liverpool, in a first-versus-second clash that the Gunners won courtesy of goals from Santi Cazorla and the in-form Aaron Ramsey.

Wenger has been a manager who has been known for an excellent eye for talent in younger players and the Frenchman has been the most successful manager in Arsenal’s history. Having gone a season unbeaten in the past, Wenger holds high standards for his teams, and the recent past has been a period of transition for the team from the legends of the early 2000s, when the likes of Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Viera would intimidate the opposition with great ease.

Wenger has been working hard to develop the next set of such legends, and their constant success this season has proven that Wenger’s master plan is slowly but surely taking shape. With limited cash resources available from the board, Wenger had to deal with several difficult situations when other teams would overspend to add quality. Players like Ramsey have proven that if nurtured the right way, even a career threatening injury can be overcome to reach the pinnacle of success. With a 5-point gap at the top of the Premier League table, Arsenal have shown resilience and maturity on the pitch. Olivier Giroud has led from the front after the departure of Marouane Chamakh and Andre Arshavin in the summer. Meanwhile, Santi Cazorla has taken full advantage of the quality added with Mesut Ozil’s arrival in the summer. The future looks bright for Wenger, and if he can hold on to his star players, trophies could be overflowing in the coming seasons.

On Saturday night, it was a strong test for both sides, but Arsenal came out on top to prove that it could be their season after nearly a decade, and it could well be the name of the north London club that is engraved on the Premier League trophy in May.

Wenger said, “I am pleased we have won a big game at home, I think it was important for the future.”
