Wenger Urging Players To Stay Focused On League

Arsenal have only lost two Premier League games this season and hope to keep that same figure as long as possible. The only teams that defeated the Gunners are Aston Villa and Manchester United. Wenger’s team has dominated the domestic competition in an unexpected manor especially considering their 8 and a half years trophy drought.

The Emirates team looks like they finally found their balance and their composure. Players like Wilshere and Ramsey have grown and reached their full potential. The Welshman is having the best season of his life and the England international is constantly improving his game. Ozil’s arrival and Giroud’s new found form also made a big difference since that 3-1 loss against Villa.

According to Metro, Wenger insisted his team should not relax even with the 4 point advantage which keeps Chelsea at a safe distance. The Frenchman said that it is not yet obvious which team is favorite to claim the 2013-2014 trophy. He urged fans to have patience and keep being realistic. Even so, Arsenal’s boss will probably be more confident of what the future holds after the last few days of 2013.

The Gunners have to face Everton, City and Chelsea in a matter of weeks. Any slip-up could cost them first place. Chelsea have the biggest chance of taking Arsenal’s place on top of the Premier League. With only 4 points to recover, the Blues have a great chance to narrow the gap if they manage an away win at the Emirates on the 23rd of December. They already defeated the North London team once and they could surely cause some major problems at the end of the month. Mourinho’s side will also benefit off of Arsenal’s incredibly unpleasant program which includes fixtures against Everton, Napoli and City which are compacted in a very short period of time.

Hopefully for Arsenal, they will maintain a clear head and end this year like the amazing group that they are. Wenger will have to motivate them and also keep them away from injuries. If things go as planned, Arsenal could take an consistent advantage over their direct adversaries.
