Wenger To Give Bendtner Yet Another Chance

Wenger To Give Bendtner Yet Another Chance

Arsenal have missed out on all their targets over the past 7 years, as far as trophies go. The 2013-2014 season looks promising though, with the Gunners currently finding themselves on a 7 match winning streak, on top of the League and Mesut Ozil has already become part of the squad, contributing again in Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Stoke. Flamini has also done a great job making his way into the first eleven. His performances have been highly appreciated by both fans and the Gunners’ manager.

Bendtner is another of Wenger’s players to return to the team. The Dane has been away for the past two seasons playing for Italian side, Juventus and for Sunderland. His last goals for Arsenal were scored about 30 months or so and his performances were not always the best. Fans are reluctant and are hoping his return is just temporary, just until Wenger signs a new star to join Ozil and Wilshere in their fight to finally win some trophies.

The Danish striker fits the position Arsenal are currently trying to fill, but efficiency has never been one of Bendtner’s strong points. Even if he is a tall striker just like Giroud, his performances never lived up to expectations. That is one of the main reasons he has spent most of his career on loan. He managed only 41 goals in 178 appearances which is not that great for a striker, especially for one wanting to become a regular in Wenger’s team.

Even so, it seems that Wenger will be giving Bendtner several chances to prove his abilities. The Frenchman said he will be rotating the squad in order to rest some of his most influential footballers, so the Dane will definitely have the opportunity to make his presence felt and also make the fans on Emirates chant his name.

DailyMail reveals that there is a big chance we’ll see the Danish player against WBA on Wednesday according to Wenger’s statements. Hopefully Bendtner will manage some good games considering Giroud is the only genuine option Arsenal have when it comes to strikers currently with Walcott seemingly injured.
