Wenger denied any interest in signing Chelsea’s Petr Cech who has been sidelined by Courtois since the beginning of the season. Several rumors saw the Blues’ keeper as a perfect replacement for Szczesny who has had his ups and downs since moving to the Emirates. Consistency is not the keeper’s strongest point although it is what counts most in a stopper. According to the Evening Standard, Wenger still trusts Szczesny and has no interest in negotiating with Chelsea for a transfer. The Frenchman expressly addressed this information after Arsenal’s keeper was involved in a scandal that started when the young stopper was caught smoking in the showers. His poor performances are not helping as well. Even so, it is more than certain that the Gunners will not be making any moves.

Not only that Cech would probably be very expensive and hard to sign, but also there is the fact that Arsenal just signed two new very promising keepers this summer. Since then, both Ospina and Damian Martinez have managed some great performances.

Arsenal will be dedicating all transfer funds to the defense and will not have to sign a new keeper anytime soon. Even though they were linked to Valdes, Casillas and several others, the Gunners seem to be set for now, with Martinez and Ospina both looking ready to step in and back up Szczesny.
