Wenger Set To Be Offered New Deal!

Arsene Wenger has overseen a flying start for the Gunners this Premier League campaign, a far cry from the horrendous start made in the two previous campaigns, which resulted in them always playing catch-up with the big boys of the league.

Coupled with their electric start which sees them sitting top of the table after six rounds of matches, Arsenal are also on course to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League after amassing six points out of six from the dreaded Group of Death which also includes Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille.

The Gunners have won ten on the trot since their opening day defeat to Aston Villa and have one of the most enviable away records in the whole of Europe; they have won 12 consecutive away matches including the victory over West Brom on penalties in the Capital One cup.

One person who has been instrumental in the Gunner’s resurgence this season has been Mesut Ozil, who arrived on transfer deadline day for a club-record fee of £42.4 million. The German was convinced by Wenger via telephone to leave Madrid in favour of north London hours before the window shut.

There has been a lot of negativity surrounding the Gunners in recent years. The departures of club captains coupled with Wenger’s refusal to spend big had fans begging for his removal as head coach of Arsenal.

However, the Gunners have turned a page this season and are looking on course to end their eight-year trophy drought.

With Arsenal flying high, Wenger is set to be rewarded with a £500,000-per-year increase to his current deal, which expires at the end of the current season. According to ESPN, Wenger will be offered a new three-year deal at the club worth £24 million over three years.

Do you think Wenger should be offered a new deal or should the board wait till the end of the season to decide the Frenchman’s fate?
