Wenger Sent To The Stands For 4 Games Including Chelsea Clash

Bad news for Arsenal who just lost Wenger for the next 4 games one of which is the all-important match against Chelsea. This was probably the biggest worry every passionate Arsenal fan had after seeing the way the Frenchman reacted at the end of the Burnley game. Now, Wenger will miss the FA Cup confrontation with Southampton, the Watford game and the Hull game, this without counting the fixture against the Blues.

Arsenal’s manager knew what was coming but took it like a man with 20 years of Premier League experience behind him as reported by the Daily Express:

“I am big enough to stand up for what I do.”

“When I don’t behave like I think I should behave, I am big enough to say I am not right. I’m a passionate guy and I believe that I am completely committed in my job and want to win football games.”

Wenger then went on to apologize while still hinting towards the fact that he was sort of entitled to react the way he reacted to some extent.

“I regret everything. I should have shut up and gone in and gone home, basically.

“I apologize for that. There’s nothing bad. I said something you hear every day in football but nine times out of 10 you’re not sent to the stand for that. But if I am, I am and I should have shut up completely.”

There is also a £25,000 fine Wenger needs to pay but that will be the least of his worries. He will need to find a way to make sure everything is set up correctly before the 4th of February when Arsenal will get the chance to narrow the title gap to just 5 points.
