Wenger Reveals His Fondness For Paul Pogba

Wenger recently admitted to being a huge fan of Paul Pogba. The young Frenchman impressed Wenger way back when he was playing for United. Even though Sir Alex Ferguson did not see any chance for the midfielder to become Manchester United material, Wenger considered Pogba a great future candidate for the Ballon d’Or. Arsenal’s boss was even close to signing the player who is now with Juventus. Wenger’s statements might not put him in the best of lights considering the fact that fans have always been unhappy with how slow the Gunners take action. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal missed out on Pogba because Juventus moved a lot faster and signed the rising star before the North Londoners managed to make any offers.

There were rumors linking Arsenal to Pogba this summer. Even though the Frenchman is now valued at £40million, he is still a player to consider. Wenger who took the transfer market by surprise with moves like the ones on Ozil and Sanchez, could be making an offer for his fellow compatriot this summer. The Gunners are in desperate need of a midfielder similar to Pogba who will be turning 22 in March.

The Frenchman has become an important member of the Serie A team managing to already have played 101 games for them. Even so, Juventus admitted that they might not be capable of satisfying Pogba’s financial requests which should not be a problem for Arsenal as far as salary goes.
