Wenger Reignites Interest In Madrid Striker

The 21-year-old, Alvaro Morata is reportedly open to the possibility of leaving Madrid at the end of the season in order to get more playing time. Coach Carlo Ancelotti prefers Jese over Morata, with the former breaking into the first-team this season.

Morata, a regular member of the squad over the past two seasons, has featured only 13 times in the league compared to the 16 league appearances of Jese. According to the Telegraph, the Spaniard has grown frustrated with a lack of opportunities and is ready for a permanent switch to Arsenal.

The report suggests that Wenger, despite being rebuffed in his attempts to sign the forward on loan in January, believes a £15 million bid will be enough for Real to part ways with the Spain U-21 international.

The nine-time Champions League winners are expected to sign a top striker in the summer, paving the way for Morata to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are also on the lookout for a new striker themselves with Giroud needing some competition for places up front. With Nicklas Bendtner set to quit the club at the end of the season, a couple of new strikers are top priority for Wenger.
