Wenger Ready To Tie Down Senior Stars To New Contracts

The diminutive winger, Santi Cazorla, is ready to sign a new and improved contract which will see him commit to Arsenal till 2017 with his wages increased to £80,000-a-week. The 29-year-old signed for Arsenal in 2012 and has gone on to become one of the most important players at the club.

According to the Daily Mail, he follows two other senior stars who are ready to pledge their future to Arsenal – Mertesacker and Rosicky. The latter, 33, is out of contract at the end of the season but Wenger revealed last week that the Czech international had agreed terms to a fresh deal.

Mertesacker has also approved a new deal that will see him tied down at the Emirates for three more seasons. The German has been standout at the back for Arsenal and with just a year left on his current deal, Wenger has swiftly moved to secure his services till 2017.

However, a new deal for long-serving defender Bacary Sagna is yet to be thrashed out. The 31-year-old has offers from France and is taking his time before deciding where he wants to play next season.
