Wenger Outbids Real Madrid In Race For Brazilian Midfielder Lucas Silva

The 21 year old midfielder has attracted much attention to him over the past year. He managed some excellent performances and increased his value exponentially. Currently playing for Cruzeiro, the player who most say, will be the new Kaka, is set to join Emirates this January. According to Metro, he will choose Arsenal over Real Madrid who underbid for the midfielder. Crueziro seem to have the player’s best interest in mind after refusing a £9million bid from the Spanish giants. Real seem very interested in the 21 year old after announcing that shirts with the number 16 will be sold this January with the player’s name on the back.

Luckily for Arsenal, the fact that Real Madrid has so many players available will be in the Gunners advantage. Silva will have probably no chance of playing for Ancelotti’s first team which is not that appealing regardless of the name of the club he will be signing with. Wenger on the other side, has the opportunity to offer Silva a place in the starting eleven. Being involved in several competitions and suffering from a tremendous streak of bad luck, Arsenal are in definite need of reinforcements. The Brazilian would surely have a place next to players like Wilshere and Ramsey. With most key players out due to injury, Silva could even be part of the starting team from January. Ozil, Wilshere, Arteta and Ramsey all suffered injuries and will not be fully recovered at the beginning of the year.
