Arsene Wenger has once again praised the performance of midfielder Jack Wilshere following the Gunners’ 6-0 Europa League win over BATE Borisov.

Arsenal had already secured qualification into the last 32 of the competition with them topping Group H, but it didn’t stop Wenger’s men producing a determined performance against the Belarusian champions.

As the result suggests, it was a good performance all-round. But it was Jack Wilshere who once again caught the eye with his control of the game, and Wenger revealed just how happy he was with the England midfielder’s performance.

“Jack is moving forward,” he said.

“You could see tonight that he is ready now to play. He is sharp. He is quick. He is incisive with his dribble. Technically he was very good tonight.

“I would say for 70 minutes of the game he was dominant in midfield on the creative side and that’s very good news for us.”

“I believe that it was done in a stylish way and in a technically-high quality game from our side.

“You can say the opponent was not at the level of the Premier League and I would agree with you but you can only do your job and that’s what we did, in a convincing way with remarkable spirit and finished well the job in this group stage.”
