Wenger Makes Surprising Move To Provide Szczesny With Unexpected Competition

Arsenal made their first official transfer of the summer after Wenger decided to sign 18 year old keeper, Hugo Keto. The young Finnish stopper has been offered a three year deal and is expected to join Arsenal’s squad as soon as possible. According to the Daily Mail, the 6.3 ft. player is going to start with the Gunners’ youth team but is expected to become Szczesny’s competition in the shortest time possible. After losing both substitute goalkeepers Arsenal can only depend on the Polish international at the moment so the signing is a welcome one.

Despite being away in Brazil, Wenger managed to land the youngster who is one of Europe’s most promising players.  The Finnish U19 international was also monitored by Liverpool who apparently failed to convince him to join the club despite being the goalkeeper’s dream club while he was a child.

Keto is not the only goalkeeper to make it to Arsenal. Rumors have linked several other more experienced stoppers to the North Londoners who are in search of some real competition for Szczesny. Apparently Casillas and Ochoa are on Wenger’s wish-list who is probably waiting to return from Brazil in order to start spending that record transfer budget which is to remain untouched up to now despite Arsenal’s thin squad. Currently the Gunners have just over 22 players in their squad which when compared with title rivals Chelsea and City might get fans concerned.
