Wenger Happy With Arsenal Attitude In Win Over Leicester But Not With Loss Of Ramsey

In Tuesday’s game vs Leicester City which Arsenal simply had to win after the loss of the North London derby on the weekend, they did so thanks to goals from Koscielny and Walcott. However, anyone thinking the Gunners were in for an easy ride were sadly mistaken. As Arsene Wenger said in his interview with Sky Sports, Arsenal had to rely on their determination and team spirit to see off the resilient and threatening East Midlands outfit.

The Gunners had looked good in the first half but the 2nd half was a different story and the “attititude” which Wenger refers to in his interview was really needed as once the score got to 2-1 Leicester really came on strong and Kramaric’s well-taken goal showed that he could well excel in the League and possibly help the Foxes stay up. Fans thinking that Leicester would be easy pickings due to the confusion surrounding the future of manager Nigel Pearson were disappointed as Pearson’s side were unified and are certainly still playing for their beleaguered boss.

The Gunners emerged from the hotly contested game with a couple more injury concerns. Firstly, Alexis Sanchez had to go off after only just recovering from a mild hamstring strain but the good news is that seemingly he is only suffering from a kick on the knee and is not too bad and therefore is not expected to miss any games. Aaron Ramsey on the other hand looks more serious as the injury forced him to come off immediately and the source of the pain was muscular so it looks like the Welshman may be on the sideines again for a while in this up-and-down season of his. So barring a miraculous recovery Ramsey will miss the upcoming FA Cup tie with the in-form Championship side Middlesbrough and likely the match vs Crystal Palace plus the Champions League knockout first leg vs AS Monaco which are coming up thick and fast before the end of February.
