Wenger Gives His Response Amid Reports He Could Return To Arsenal

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he won’t be returning to the Emirates in any capacity. The Frenchman left the Gunners in 2017 and when asked if he would go back if a position was made available to him, he replied:

“Would I return to the Emirates Stadium? I always said to myself that I would be leaving Arsenal completely. That’s the decision I made.”

There has been a lot of talk among both journalists and pundits that Wenger could perhaps return as a member of the club’s board or as a Director of Football.

However, Wenger appears to be content with his new position at FIFA, where he has taken up the role of Head of Global Football Development.

The 70-year-old has mentioned that he began to suffer health problems due to stress during his final year at Arsenal, and he has stated that, while it was difficult to leave, he also felt some relief following his departure with the pressure having been lifted.

With all that in mind then, it isn’t a surprise that Wenger isn’t particularly open to coming back in a formal role.
