Wenger Focuses Attention On Attacking Players After Admitting David Luiz Is Not A Realistic Target

Arsenal have sort of dropped out from the transfer radar lately as teams like Liverpool, City, United and Chelsea are spending enormous amounts of money and attracting all the attention. That is not necessarily a bad thing as selling parties know that Wenger will not simply throw money at them just because the market has exploded.

Recently there were rumors that Chelsea’s David Luiz will join Arsenal for some reason. People actually started talking about that until Wenger came out with the following according to Metro: ‘I don’t want to speak about any names. ‘But these reports are wrong.’

Not sure who was thinking about seeing Luiz at Emirates at this point in time but what can you do. Rumors will always emerge even when there’s not even the slightest chance they will materialize.

Moving forward, there are two players who could actually be added to Arsenal’s squad sometime this year.

First there’s PSG’s Goncalo Guedes who was sent to Valencia on loan after failing to get a spot in PSG’s 1st team squad. To be honest, he wasn’t actually given the chance to leave his mark as he was given Neymar as a direct adversary.

The Portuguese winger is doing a great job for Valencia and could be a solution for Arsenal’s left wing. He’s not yet on the same level as Alexis Sanchez but he would still be a good investment. He is only 21 but has already played around 100 games for very important European clubs. He has the pace, he has the skill, the vision and he can shoot. It might be hard for him to adjust to play in the PL just as good as he does for Valencia but if Wenger sees something in him then we should give the French boss some credit.

Secondly we have Kerem Demirbay who is now TSG 1899 Hoffenheim’s hottest property. The 24-year-old German international seems to be keen on moving from the Bundesliga and Arsenal might be the place he ends up.

According to The Mirror, Everton are also interested, there’s also a rumor that Theo Walcott could be joining Rooney at Goodison Park so they might forget about Demirbay. There’s not much info at this point regarding the Bundesliga midfielder but it is definitely a lead to follow given all the rumors that Ozil an Sanchez have one foot out the door.
