Bringing Ozil in during the summer transfer period was probably one of the best moves Wenger made in his 17 year long history with Arsenal. The German international has definitely improved the Gunners’ game and has managed to perfectly adapt to the team’s playing style.

Arsenal paid £42.4m for the 24 year old who has already helped his team a lot since coming to Emirates Stadium. He scored and he has managed some great assists but most importantly he brought a lot of quality to the game. The fans are more than pleased with this transfer especially after a long period in which Wenger refused to spend big money on established players. What made things even worse was the fact that he let players like Fabregas leave, making Gooners think he was more interested in the financial aspect of the club rather than the glory that comes with winning trophies. All those hard feelings are gone now after Ozil made his way to Emirates.

According to Metro, fans are not the only ones praising Wenger for signing Ozil. Former Arsenal star, Dennis Bergkamp spoke highly of the German’s arrival in London. He sees the 24 year old midfielder as an important link that was missing from the Gunner’s starting line-up. He also believes that this is the transfer that will finally end Arsenal’s 8 year trophy-less run.

The creativity and field-awareness were two of the most impressive qualities Bergkamp insisted upon, saying that it is very hard to find such quality in such a young footballer. Even more so Ozil fits perfectly with the Gunners’ profile. He is only 24 but has already performed at the highest level possible after spending 3 years playing for Real Madrid.

Ozil’s versatility and his attacking style are what matter most. He will definitely help the team and hopefully he will end Arsenal’s trophy drought. The Gunners will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future especially if they manage to sign one or two other star players.
