Wenger Defended By Arsenal Legend, Bob Wilson

Chelsea’s Portuguese manager is well known for his inappropriate comments and strange behavior when it comes to title rivals. Since the Tito Vilanova incident, Mourinho has continued to put pressure on other managers and clubs in any way possible. Recent targets include Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger and City’s Manuel Pellgrini who are both in the race for Premier League glory.

Despite Wenger’s relatively passive attitude towards Mourinho, Arsenal legend Bob Wilson responded to the Portuguese manager’s inappropriate comments and characterized the Special One as “boring” and “despicable”.

Wilson reacted to Mourinho’s “specialist in failure” comment which the Chelsea boss directed at Wenger on Friday. The Blues’ boss is clearly trying to add extra pressure to the two teams involved in this season’s title race but he seems to have offended a lot more people than he expected.

Arsenal’s former goalkeeper who spent his entire career representing the Gunners acknowledged Mourinho’s excellent managerial qualities but also called him disrespectful and despicable. He also reminded Chelsea’s manager that Wenger has been around for almost two decades and that his contribution to English football deserves a lot more respect.

This is not the first time Mou has lashed out at Wenger. Previously, he also called the Frenchman a “voyeur” but did apologize shortly after. As Metro report, Wilson is not at all fond of Mourinho’s disrespectful attitude especially when it is directed towards Arsenal’s manager and when asked about the Chelsea’s manager recent outbursts on the weekend after England legend, Sir Tom Finney had passed away, Wilson reponded by saying, “…I find him boring at the moment.

“To call (City boss Manuel) Pellgrini the abuse that he’s called him to do with Arsene, this is a weekend when we honour a gent – Tom Finney, Sir Tom, and I don’t like bullies.”

Sometimes Mourinho does cross the line and he really does let himself down but whether it really helps or hurts his team by him going to such extremes, we will never really know but regardless it is good to see Arsenal legends sticking up for le Boss.
