Wenger Contract Announcement Due Shortly

Following the multi-million collaboration deal with kit manufacturing giants Puma, Arsenal fans can rejoice further as chief executive Ivan Gazidis has revealed that an agreement has been reached with Arsene Wenger over an extended, improved contract at the club. This is set to dismiss any floating rumors about Wenger’s future, which were starting to do the rounds.

The Frenchman has been loyal to Arsenal ever since joining back in 1996. He has resisted opportunities to coach clubs like Real Madrid and PSG on multiple occasions in the past in favor of staying with the London giants. He is now the English league’s longest serving manager following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in the summer.

Wenger has been busy over the last few days locked into negotiations, trying to bring in players that interest him before the transfer window slams shut on Friday. So much so, that he has chosen to put his own contract talks on hold in order to complete the transfer deals. However, as Arsenal unveiled Puma as their new kit sponsors, Gazidis took the opportunity to announce that an agreement has been reached with Wenger over a new deal, which is set to be announced in the coming few days, as Metro report.

He faced the media and he simply said, “Arsene will be extending and at the right time we will make that announcement.”

With the future of Wenger wrapped up, the next headache for Arsenal is to get the likes of Sagna and Rosicky – who are in their final months of the contract – to sign an extension. Will they manage to do this soon as well?
