Arsenal look to have directed their attention to West Ham’s Winston Reid who looks like a great solution for solving all of the Gunners defensive problems. He is versatile, young and has proven himself in the Premier League. According to Metro, Wenger is no longer hiding the fact that he wants the 26 year old. Despite keeping all transfer rumors a secret, this information slipped out for some reason. Even if the cards are now on the table it will still be hard to sign the New Zeeland international who is also targeted by Tottenham. Spurs look interested in signing the central defender and are willing to pay more than Arsenal’s offer.

Signing Reid will cost Arsenal £5million which should not be a problem given the major lack of defensive resources Wenger needs to address before the beginning of the Champions League. With Debuchy out for three months, Chambers will have to return to the right side of the pitch so he will not be able to play as a center back.  Hopefully West Ham will accept Arsenal’s offer and will let the defender leave. With his contract set to expire in a couple of months a transfer is expected. It remains to be seen where the 26 year old will end up considering the fact that the club will probably want to get as much money as they can from their most sought after player.
