Arsenal have had a £10m bid rejected for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Gunners are also poised to sign Dijon shot-stopper Runar Alex Runarsson, but it appears the Gunners want to sign two goalkeepers before the current transfer window closes.
Considering the limited transfer funds available, supporters on Twitter simply cannot get their head around why Arsenal would consider spending so much on Raya when there are bigger priorities in other areas of the pitch:
Well this makes absolutely no sense at all. Weird.

What’s going on? Why sign 2 goalkeepers? Is Runarsson not good enough as a backup?

It is believed that Brentford will only sanction Raya’s sale if the Bees can have him back on loan for another season. That kind of deal would make even less sense for the Gunners as they would be £10m+ out of pocket without actually getting the player for another year.
They did do something similar with William Saliba but with the transfer kitty not exactly full to the brim, it doesn’t seem like a good use of funds for a reserve keeper.
