Welcome Mohamed Elneny

Welcome Mohamed Elneny

Arsenal announced their first transfer of 2016 and are expected to make at least one other similar move by the end of the transfer period. Basel agreed to sell 23-year-old Mohamed Elneny for around £7.4m according to The Guardian. The Egyptian international is expected to make his debut for the Gunners as soon as possible. The defensive midfielder was brought in to fill the gap left by Coquelin’s injury, gap that could cost Arsenal important points if not filled in properly. There is no one who will argue with Wenger’s decision to strengthen the midfield. Elneny is the kind of player who can really surprise you which is probably why Arsenal’s manager insisted to bring him in. Even though he is no Toni Kroos, the youngster is one of the most hard-working players you will find. He was first in both the Champions League and Europa League when it comes to covered distances during a match and he showed great determination throughout his time spent in Basel.

It`s been a while since Arsenal had such a dedicated man join their ranks. If stories are true, Elneny grew up playing football 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. He slept with his football and has always dreamt about becoming a professional footballer. He stood out while playing for the Swiss side by showcasing incredible athletic feats and a lung capacity of a marathon runner. He is quiet both on and off the pitch and is fully dedicated to the game. Alongside names like Sanchez, Bellerin, Monreal and Campbell, this Egyptian midfielder could really bring something extra to the table. Looking at both full-backs and both wingers mentioned you can see how their determination can win games. Bellerin will give his last ounce of speed to go past an adversary and Monreal would throw himself in front of an attacker without thinking twice. Sanchez would push himself well over the limit and would play until he is exhausted. The same goes for Campbell who is looking better and better. Elneny promises to have all those qualities and even though he might not be the next Patrick Vieira, he can still make an impact. He has the intelligence and even though he lacks force, he can still anticipate adversaries very well.
